National Zoological Park is one of the finest and largest zoos in Asia and efforts have been made to provide an almost natural habitat to the animals and birds. The park was designed by Major Weinman of Colombo, Sri Lanka and the famous Carl Hagenbeck of West Germany.
Established in 1959, the park is spread over an area of 214 acres and has 22,000 varieties of animals and birds. Within the din and bustle of the city this is one place where you can find a serene environment.
The visitor enters the park through the Mughal Kos Minar and they get the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the expansive garden. There are lots of animals like Gir Lion, Zebras, Spider Monkeys and Chimpanzees. You will also have the opportunity to see innumerable reptiles and birds.
