Opposite Raj Ghat is a small museum based on the life and times of Mahatma Gandhi. There are five pavilions for you to go through sculpture, photographs and paintings of Gandhi, history of the Satyagraha movement and the philosophy of ahimsa (non- violence).

A photographic documentation of the life and times of Mahatma Gandhi is exhibited, where the Mahatma's mortal remains are kept. The Smarak Sangrahalaya is a memorial containing Gandhiji's personal possessions. The Museum has a very rich collection of relics, books, journals and documents, photographs, audio- visual materials, exhibitions, art pieces and other memorabilia closely connected with Mahatma Gandhi.

There is a stone bowl, a brass plate, the clothes which Mahatma Gandhi wore on the day he was assassinated, a pair of wooden sandals, his bamboo walking stick, a few reed pens that he carved himself, and his diary.

Hours: 10a- 5p. Closed Sunday
